VOLUNTEER WORK

  • Monash University Student Mentor, MADA Peer Mentoring program, 2020

FEBRUARY 2020 - NOVEMBER 2020

The transition to a studio-based learning environment requires a shift in how students approach learning and making, and as a MADA Peer Mentor, I supported mentees by providing support to better understand the requirements of studio-based learning. I shared skills and advice for studying in the creative disciplines and supported students to connect with groups and activities to enrich their first-year MADA experience.

  • Intermission Gallery, Collaboration, 2020

Through online meetings, I and the gallery team collaborated on discussing and curating Art Therapy workshop ideas for an opening event on Orientation Day at Monash University. I allowed knowledge of my practice and research to inform peers on possible ideas that were able to be developed in a student-safe setting.

  • Eco Fest, Petrie Park, Montmorency, Collaboration, 2022

As a team member, I specialized in crafting plush cacti through sewing, creating Monster Pots by cutting and planting, and crafting kokedama by wrapping. These tasks required attention to detail, patience, and a welcoming demeanor when children/young adults arrived to participate.
