reminisce, 2022
These two paintings gently whisper to viewers the way our unpleasant memories can still be inherent in our present or in fleeting moments. They both reveal the haunting nature of how past emotional connections to people, who have either parted ways or passed on, can still cling onto us; Like damp bed sheets after encountering vivid dreams.
Although reminiscing involves the act of an individual indulging in positive recollections of past events, I have, instead, spoken about the uncomfortable reality of how unwanted memories from the past can seep back into our minds.
